New York-style pizzas & classic pastas served in a brick-walled space hung with Rat Pack photos.
The food was great and I wish we could come back but…We walked in and the hostess barely looked at or greeted us before seating us. Walking in, you’re immediately hit with this musty smell and the restaurant was almost silent with no music. We sat down and my daughter looked behind our booth where I saw there was a bunch of dust and trash. My salad had brown leaves. Waitress was quick and helpful enough. The good part was the food aside from the salad. I had the veal Gorgonzola pasta which I loved. The veal was delicious, pasta was nice and perfectly cooked and the sauce was super tasty. Bread was just slightly too drenched in oil for my liking but otherwise good.Maybe we’ll get takeout from here but just about everything about the ambiance was a little gross.
Called to place an easy togo order for spaghetti. They didnt answer after many calls, and when finally they did answer... they told me they were with a big party and asked me to call back in 20minutes to even place the order. Not a great experience at all.
Local favorite for us. This time we ordered a pizza to go. Its a bit pricey but worth it for quality and taste.
A traditional Italian restaurant, have been here a bunch and I have never had a bad meal.
The food is Good but the floor need to be vacuum and clean the bathroom is very bad it needs to be cleaned also it needs a whole new remodeling sever take at lease 15 to 20 minutes to take our order 🤔 it all the restaurant needs a remodeled and need to be more cleaner
Love Frankies! Great place, friendly staff, amazing food,, huge calamari, fresh pasta dishes,, great pizza, large wine selection. If in town , this place is a must try. Just dont take photos of the staff 🤷
Food and service was great, as usual. We live about an hour away so we always visit Frankies when we are in town.
Pizza is always great. Everything I have eaten here is also. The service is up in the air based on who you get. The decor needs to be updated terribly bad. The chair I sat in bout gave out. Im only 58 165
Great service, big portions, grest taste!
I had such a delicious pasta dinner there last night! Serving was so generous I will have it today again for lunch.Very good & friendly service.
I tried this place and the food was so bland. The lettuce for my salad was brown, the meatball looked like dog food rolled up in a ball, my roll (supposed to had been garlic breadwas hard and cold. I’m a foodie and this was not it for me.
Ordered Ziti Sicilian and San Pellegrino. The small bottle of San Pellegrino was $8.00! Ridiculous. The Ziti tasted like the sauce came from a jar, it was simply poured over a piece of what should have been eggplant Parmigiana and a few pieces of very al dented ziti. There was absolutely nothing good about it. And then, this "authentic" Italian restaurant didnt serve espresso.I dont live in Atlanta, so I cant be certain but I suspect there are numerous better Italian restaurants in town. Id skip this one. Our server Andy was pleasant and professional.
Bar staff was super friendly while we had a longer than hoped wait for our pizza. Will be back again.
Spotted this spot that we later learned is a landmark. We enjoy really good food and EXCELLENT service and customer service.
Decent enough. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, unfortunately was during an apparent shift change. Our server was as warm as a cry for help, but I suppose everyone has their days.Food was good, but way too expensive for the portion size.Ill be back but not sure when...
Kind service, quick service, yummy food. Meals came with rolls & salad.
Excellent, very clean . The waiter was excellent, the food hot and with little wait time. Very tasty. Dave
Love this place!!!! So old school, it’s incredible. The food is amazing also. Our server was so kind as well.
Been going here for years. Great pizza and rolls
Very good food in an enjoyable atmosphere. I will definitely go back
Awesome GREAT food, friendly clean and no rush to get you out! Prices and quality/quantity are beyond the greatness of this establishment. Leeah waitress for only 2 months service was professional friendly and a asset to Frankies Thanks Leeah...
There was one waiter and he was doing as well as he could but service was very slow. There was another employee doing very little to help him. Food was ok but my linguini with clam sauce had few clams. The food was inexpensive, but overall a disappointing experience.
Had never been here before and just happened to stumble across this place. Made for a great meal. Excellent salad and garlic knots, good pasta, kids lasagna was excellent. Definitely recommend!
Stopped in because it looked like an old Italian restaurant I’d go to in NYC, CT or Chicago. Had the cheese tortellini with peas and prosciutto. It was excellent, the sauce was particularly good!
We came in at 7:00 on a Sunday as a party of 8. Our server hardly greeted us, took our drink orders and no appetizers offers. Didn’t see her for 20 minutes. We were ready to order dinner but she hadn’t finished the waters or bottle of wine. The soup we had to return twice. Finally asked the manager to help us. She was very inattentive to our tables needs. Never offered refills or brought out more rolls. I asked for a half portion of Alfredo over angel hair. She brought a full out and i’m immediately asked Why this wasn’t a half, she claimed she didn’t hear me but my whole table did. It was like pulling teeth trying to get her adjust the ticket. The manager hardly made an attempt to redeem our visit and this review I ultimately decided to write up. Won’t be returning.
The waiter Andy did a phenomenal job with the service, but the food was average at best. We ordered three different dinners and I might order mine again, but I would definitely tell them to hold back on some of the olive oil. My daughter had the chicken parm sub, which she orders frequently at other restaurants, and she said that she wouldnt order it again there. My wife said that her spaghetti and meatballs were kinda bland and lacked flavor.Their portions were generous but they need to work on the old family recipes.
We were late diners. Our girl was a little invisible. She didnt come back to check on us after our food arrived. I gave her a much better tip than shed earned. I must say the food was excellent. Her service wasnt bad; she just wasnt as attentive as she should have been.
This place has so much potential and they just kept missing the mark. First of all, the menus need an update! Our wine list came with wine actually spilled on it, that’s a simple fix. The house salad and wedding soup were a great start and really seemed promising for the main course… wrong. I ordered the baked ziti which I’m pretty sure was just regular old cooked pasta in red sauce with melted cheese on it. And it was like warm! Baked ziti has its appeal because it has crunchy bits that have been baked and it’s usually piping hot. The sauce was really yummy though! My partner got the linguine with claims and it looked like soup… no substance to the white sauce at all. I am so disappointed.
The best Italian food I have had. My wife and I have been here close to 10 times since we moved to the area and have never had a bad experience. There is sometimes a wait but that is only due to their popularity and the food is definitely worth it. It is also pretty cheap for authentic Italian food and they have half price wine for almost half of the week.
it seems to be riddled with old white people who never seen ethnic groups besides themselves. i went there for my friend’s bday dinner and we got so many stares. the waitress was lovely though and service was divine however she forgot my soup. at least the place was clean though and they had a cute little heater in the waiting area which was nice. the eggplant parmesan was wonderful as well.
Bread was cold drenched in olive oil. I ordered marinara with mushrooms which was tomato juice with pasta and raw mushrooms. The "baked" ziti was more pasta with the cheapest marinara with some semi-melted cheese. Our server was nice though. The people next to us were shamelessly breaking their necks to look at us.
Horrible management, awesome food. My Google map showed 4.9miles that was under 5 miles and they checked it on Apple Maps that somehow showed 5.1 Miles and they refused to deliver. It’s one of our favorite places to eat or pick up food but this unnecessary attitude and no flexibility really changed our perception of Frankie’s.Good food needs good customer service too, manager on duty (2/14/22 6:26PMmade the call of not delivering. You lost a loyal customer on 0.1 mile, that too was not correct as per Google maps.
We love this restaurant but they are so understaffed that we had to leave after waiting for for over 45min to be seated, with no end in sight. They were forcing 1 server to serve the entire dining room of 10+ tables. Just watching him try to handle this impossible task was stressful. Tables were waiting with no drinks, no menus, customers were wandering around trying to find someone to give them their check. Management should properly staff this restaurant. Its unethical to force one server to serve every table in your entire restaurant.
Literally the worst meal Ive had in a long time. Waited 10 minutes for a server to show up at the table, mind you, this is after I notified the hostess. Our order was really simple: the antipasto salad for 2 and an order of stuffed mushrooms. Thank God we never ordered entrees. The mushrooms came out cold and raw. We sent them back. When the server brought them out again, still cold and raw. The salads were the size of side salad and missing ingredients. When I asked the server about it she said that it wasnt missing so I had to literally show her the menu and read her the description. Massively over priced and NOT worth it! If zero stars were possible, thats what I would leave. Needless to say, we left and went to Johnnys.
Fantastic food fantastic service cant wait to come back. Cassidy our waitress was a gem. My boyfriend brought me here on a lunch date and he had the veal piccata which was wonderful. I had the chicken spinach Florentine and it was delicious. I also had the minestrone soup which I loved. Great portions we both have leftovers for dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Update: Again, I enjoyed its good food. Ive never had anything subpar. Garlic rolls now had slightly crispy surface and they were better. Good server service, too.---As always I love their pasta, salad, and garlic bread. A big portion for a steal price.
Service was poor and food was terrible... Hostess sat my wife and I, only to wait several minutes and have to ask the hostess to get our server. We ordered stuffed mushrooms and a antipasta salad for 2. Mushrooms were cold... asked server to take back. Salad comes out. Missing full ingredients and no dressing. Mushrooms come back out and cold AGAIN. Restroom smelt like an old, wet mop and place was in dissaray and rough condition. Sadly, came there years ago and wished it was a different experience. Wouldnt recommend.
We used to LOVE eating here!! When we moved to the area it was at least monthly if not every other week. Unfortunately it has slowly gone down hill especially during and after the lock down. Lackluster service, food portions have gotten smaller, not as crowded as it used to be are all contributing factors. One of the things Ive always had a problem with is the amount of pasta they serve with the Parmigiano dishes, its never enough and when I ask for a little bit extra they would charge me $5!!We will probably come back but only for the occasional visit because its close and convenient but wont expect anything to be different.
I grew up coming here and decided to come back with a coworker for lunch today. I was very disappointed in the experience, especially because I have talked so highly of this place to her. The service was slow, I’m assuming they were understaffed so that’s not a problem. However, the manager on shift was extremely rude. She was talking poorly of a customer as the young lady was standing right there. Also, I had to unroll 4 different silverware rolls before I was finally able to find a semi-clean fork. Not to mention, it also smelt like mold. Nothings been updated it looks like in the past 15+ years I’ve been going there.Sad to see this spot like this now.
The food here is good, and the prices are decent for good italian. The service is a bit slow, but if you just go in planning to have a leisurely dinner, its fine. The rolls and salads are super yummy, and I love any of their vodka sauce pastas. Also recommend their artichoke hearts and the chicken & spinach florentine. Hmm - Im changing my rating back up to a 5. As long as you know its slow, its worth it.
OH MY GOODNESS. THE BREAD. The GREATEST BREAD KNOWN TO MAN! I love the Garlic spread you use it is wonderful! Ive never had bread like that anywhere else. The food was amazing as well, but the bread was just unforgettable! Service was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxing! We will be returning when we are in town. And we will recommend you!
Pizza at this place is really good; the bread is perfect and the sauce tastes great. Portion size is slightly on the low side for some of the dishes but the food is well prepared. They give you garlic bread and salad with your meal, both of which are also very good.
Frankie’s on Roswell sits across from RaceTrac & adjacent from QuikTrip off of Old Canton Road.We came here on my mother’s birthday! We decided a family-style dinner would be a night to remember. It did take a few minutes to get greeted by the server, Emily. The restaurant wasn’t busy, but I guess our server was. She also failed to let us know it was half-off wine Sunday-Thursday. We would’ve ordered a more expensive bottle and tipped her off of the full price of the bottle. But, there is always next time. The rolls were delicious, even if they’re swimming in a bath of oil. The stuffed mushrooms were fantastic. I don’t understand the lemon wheel. I assume it was for the presentation. The Caprese was enjoyable, but I would’ve liked to see larger pieces of basil. When you chiffonade the basil that thin, the oils bleed out. It’s fine on a margarita pizza, but dry’s out on a salad. They used a ton of olive oil throughout. Every dish had a generous amount, aside from the baked ziti! For dessert, we enjoyed the lemon-mascarpone cake and had a wonderful time together! We continue to come by from time to time because it is an affordable Italian meal. The manager, Paul, helped assist us in finding a more consistent dried Parmesan shaker.Food: 7 | 10Service: 7 | 10Atmosphere: 7 | 10
We all enjoyed the food and the service is impeccable. We will definitely return! There were 5 of us and we tasted 10 different dishes. Each one was delicious. The pasta were definitely fresh. Theneat dishes were mouth watering. We ate so much that we could not eat dessert.
The food is pretty good. The delivery is awful. Order delivery and you are more likely than not to get cold food an hour and a half later. It has been this way for a while and they clearly dont care. Not sure why they will not hire more drivers. Bottom line: eat there or go pick it up yourself and you will get a pretty good meal. If you want delivery, then skip it. You are far better off to order from somewhere else.
We ordered carryout as the dinning room is closed and picked it up. Food was great. Had the lasagna and pasta premivara and both were hot, salad was a nice mixture of items and breads with garlic butter all bagged and ready to go. Mentioned it was my birthday (and showed them my ID to prove itand they threw in a piece of cheesecake with some special handiwork on the container. Wife gave a 20% tip and then went back in and doubled it to help the staff that had so little to do, yet was very welcoming and friendly.
Amazing food and great service. Has been here forever and thats because they know what theyre doing here. This place can go toe to toe with any high end joint in the city. Love this place.
Overall, Im very pleased with my experience at this place. The quality of the ingredients were high, and the food was served very quickly. The price was reasonable for the quality of the food, and they served us plenty of rolls on the side. Would totally come back, Check out their menu it has a lot of items. I personally have the meat lover stromboli, and it was great.
This spot has good portions and everything was good: the rolls were fresh, salad was good, and the waiter had excellent service. Great prices
Ambiance is nice. Somewhat dark, but I like that. Our food came out super fast. The wine specials during lunch can’t be beat. The prices aren’t expensive. I enjoyed myself.
